Mitzi Moore
Mitzi Moore joined the board of SAY Sí in January of 2026 and currently serves as Treasurer and a member of the Events Committee. Supporting the arts community is something she has leaned into since retiring from teaching in 2022. She served as a public school teacher for 34 years, instructing over 4300 students, first in science and then in technology. Her last assignment was Digital Media at the International School of the Americas. Her continued need to learn new things and to teach people new things in retirement inspired her to create a TikTok account that tells people about free things to do in San Antonio; as of October 2026 her videos have been viewed 6 million times (but 4 million of those were on a single video of the River Walk being drained for cleaning).
Mitzi enjoys public speaking and has presented to a number of audiences including Texas Public Radio’s Worth Repeating series, Creative Mornings San Antonio, Thrive Youth Center and Street2Feet. She is very involved in community organizations such as the Good Acres Network, Climate Ready Neighborhoods, and Speak Up Speak Out (a youth civics fair). She volunteers as the Treasurer of San Antonio Mennonite Church, and serves as Vice President of Community Engagement for the nonprofit Spare Parts. She enjoys creating art and showing it at local galleries; her Rosie the Bicycle photography project has its own following on Instagram. For the past two years she curated photography shows for FotoSeptiembre. Mitzi also sings and plays the piano, appearing in shows produced by Music on Magnolia. Like many San Antonians, she collects Fiesta Medals: she works with SA Flavor annually to create one of their community-designed medals. She enjoys exploring San Antonio with her husband, three children, and five grandchildren. You can reach her through her website, SanAntonioSpots.com.
